PORAC -- The Royal Garden Golf and Country Club, which formally opened here last Friday, is expected to boost investments in this town and in nearby Angeles City.
Officials and traders in the two areas lauded furniture magnate Ruperto Cruz for developing the golf club situated in Barangay Cutcut, Angeles City.
Porac Mayor Rogelio Santos said the golf and country club will attract investments particularly in the real estate industry.
"We congratulate Mr. Perto Cruz and we expect more investments to come. We thank him and our Korean friends for establishing a world-class destination in our area," Santos said.
Royal Garden and Country Club is a joint-venture development project of the Royal Garden Estate, represented by renowned Angeles City master craftsman and industrialist Ruperto Cruz, and South Korea's Nam Suek Leisure Estate Corporation represented by its president Nam Suek.
The 18-hole golf course spreads over 120 hectares of land at the boundary of Porac and Angeles City. The all-weather championship course is primed to be a major leg in both regional and international circuits.
Cruz, chief executive officer of Royal Garden, said the golf course meets the most stringent standards of space and design set in international competitions.
"Challenging, even to the professional, it is a must-course for qualifiers to international tournaments. Yet another challenge, amenity too, that Royal Garden Golf offers is Night play," he said.
The golf course is also a showcase of classical statuaries replicated from those in Versailles, the Louvre and other European museums enhances an aesthetic ambiance that is all the Royal Garden's own.
The golf course has 320 yard driving range, putting green, 60 brand new golf carts and the best amenities and restaurants.
Centrally located, the golf club is five minutes away from the Clark Freeport and the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport.
The North Luzon Expressway-Dau Exit is about 25 minutes away and with the opening of Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Royal Garden is but a 45-minute drive from Subic and 30 from Tarlac.
Among those who grace the inauguration were Mayors Francis Nepomuceno of Angeles City and Roger Santos of Porac, Angeles Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, Angeles Councilors Maricel Morales and Rudy Simeon, Angeles City Administrator Bong Alvaro.
Other personalities who were present were Clark Development Corporation president Benny Ricafort, Clark International Airport Corporation president Chichos Luciano and executive vice president Alex Cauguiran, Central Luzon Police Director Errol Pan, Tourism Regional Director Ronaldo Tiotuico, Duksoo Kim, Jun Tae Il, Kim Michael, Kim Kwang Ho, Yuvean and the Nam family.(RGN)
